The Department of Fashion Business puts emphasis on practical businesses with a view to nurturing people talent who is required by the current fashion industry by providing diverse and practical programs - from the course majoring in the latest fashion business like smart fashion business that aims to develop the capability of fashion big data analysis and digital fashion marketing to actively cope with the 4th industrial revolution, to the course majoring in personal image making that supports the foundation of a one-person business.
The department enables students to learn the theoretical and practical knowledge needed for doing business with fashion goods and offering consulting services to companies or individuals with fashion expertise in depth and systematically. The department nurtures specialists who manage online and offline marketing communication for consumers such as fashion marketers, fashion MDs, and shop masters, or who can provide fashion related consulting such as colorist and image making consultant.
Now, what matters is “how”, not “what”!!
The success of recent fashion business depends not on how to sell, instead of what to sell. It is hard to make a difference using a product only. Therefore, the success of the business is determined by the strategy of how to appeal, access, and sell to the consumer. The department develops various capabilities necessary for the fashion business and cultivates people of talent to find out an answer to “how”.
Retraining fashion industry talents
We all know that we have to change the way we have worked so far in an environment where digital transformation is required in every field, but nobody tells us how to change. As a result, people are saying “No one backs you up!” is the only answer. Therefore, the department will be the birthplace of re-training so that students are not abandoned in such an environment. Rather, students will be trained to solve the problem successfully by increasing their competitiveness.
The Department of Fashion Business,Sejong Cyber University offers
four major courses to achieve its educational goals.
Smart fashion business
Developing the big data analysis capability to forecast the demand of fashion products, and specialized capabilities that can conduct fashion marking advertising based on the digital platform.
Shop master fashion business
Developing specialized capabilities to manage offline fashion-based retail stores (store layout design, consumer shopping experience management, employee management)
Fashion design & merchandise planning
Developing specialized capabilities to develop (design, sourcing, production) fashion products that matches the brand concept or various goals and needs.
Personal image making
Developing specialized image-making capabilities that can advise how to present the best image, by diagnosing the body color of each individual.

1:1 consultation with the professor about study, employment, foundation, and career change and guidance for application writing and self-introduction letter.
Building a diverse human network
People of talent in the fashion industry gathers and create a human network, which are working in a variety of different fields such as fashion brand MD, shop master, stylist, VMD, online shopping mall MD/management, model, makeup artist, fashion designer, and image making coach.

- Those who want to pursue their career in the fashion industry regardless of their age, even though they don’t have any knowledge or experience in fashion.
- Those who are eager to learn in-depth theories, even though they have years of experiences and understanding on practical business in the fashion industry.
- A preliminary certificate holder who needs to graduate from a 4-year college as a condition for taking the exam for the government-certified certificate (colorist engineer).
- A preliminary instructor who wants to enter a graduate school to teach juniors later based on practical experience.
