Application Procedure

STEP 1Apply Online

  • ① Fill out the application form on http://go.sjcu.ac.kr
  • ② Pay the application fee (30,000 KRW)
    - Select payment method from card, virtual account, and PayCo
  • ③ Select payment method from card, virtual account, and PayCo
    - 6 questions, at least 10 Korean characters per item and up to 1,000 characters; can be modified within the application period
  • ④ Take the aptitude test
    - 20 questions, limited to 30 minutes, can only be taken once

STEP 2Submit Application Materials

STEP 3Announcement of Admitted Students and Student ID Verification

STEP 4Registration (Pay the Registration Fee)

  • ③ Registration Fee: 166,000 KRW (Pre-deduction or exemption notified according to the scholarship applied)
  • ④ Select payment method from credit card, virtual account, and PayCo

STEP 5Course Registration and Tuition Fee Payment

  • ① Access the university website home.sjcu.ac.kr
    - Log in with your student ID and password (6 digits of date of birth)
  • ② Apply between 9-18 credits on 「Student Service> Course Registration」
  • ③ Pre-reduction or exemption in proportion to applied credits (80,000 KRW per credit)
  • ④ Select payment method from card, virtual account, and PayCo

  • Not graduated from a vocational college: In order to apply for the second and third year transfer, the credits obtained from the vocational college must be recognized as 35 or 70 credits or more, respectively, through the academic credit banking system of the National Institute for Lifelong Education.

    - Application for credit approval through the National Institute for Lifelong Education is limited to January, April, and October every year (takes approximately 2 months after application)

Selection Criteria

  • 100% of students for recruitment are selected according to the overall score (total score), which is the screening result, and those with a total score of less than 40 are not selected.
    - My Study Plan (5 short-answer questions and Personal Statement): 70 points
    - Aptitude test (20 multiple choice questions): 30 points
  • The criteria for selection among tie scorers are in the order of high scores on the Aptitude Test> in the order of high scores on My Study Plan > in the order of high scores on Personal Statement > Seniors > in the order of application date

Cautions

  • The application form must be completed accurately based on facts and filled out accurately since it will be academic data after admission.
  • Admission or enrollment may be canceled if there is an error/omission/miswriting/false information in the application form, if it is determined that other fraudulent methods have been used, or if a person who does not meet the application qualifications passes/is admitted
  • The application form must be written carefully since it is impossible to modify the contents and cancel the application after the application fee (deposit) is paid.
  • Required documents will not be returned, and verifying whether they have been accepted or passed is the applicant's responsibility.
  • In accordance with Article 42-3, Paragraph 2 of the Enforcement Decree of the Higher Education Act, the application fee will be refunded in the case of the following reasons:
    - The amount overpaid if the applicant overpays due to an error
    - If the applicant fails to apply for admission due to reasons attributable to the university
    - If the applicant fails to apply for admission due to a natural disaster
    - If the applicant fails to apply for admission because s/he is admitted to a medical institution due to illness or accident, or due to death;
    however, this is limited to when the relevant matters can be proved.
  • In the event of a balance due to income and expenses related to admission screening, the applicant may receive a refund in proportion to the application fee paid. The admission fee will be returned by bank transfer, and the applicant will be notified of the details. (However, the cost of using the computer network of a financial institution is deducted from the amount to be returned, and if the cost is more than the amount to be returned or there is no balance, the fee will not be returned.)
  • Applicants and students admitted to our university can apply for multiple applications and double enroll in other universities, but the student must check with other schools whether it is permitted by them.
  • Enrollment grades are not disclosed
  • Successful applicants must pay the admission fee and tuition by the designated date, and admission will be canceled if the notified fee is not paid by the designated date.
  • In the event of an unregistered vacancy after the announcement of admitted applicants, waitlisted candidates will be contacted according to their ranking on preliminary pass. If the candidate cannot be reached more than 3 times, registration right will be given to the next ranked person, and admission may be canceled if the admission fee is not paid within the notified schedule.
  • Viewing admission results is the candidate’s responsibility, and all responsibility lies with the applicant himself/herself for any disadvantages arising from non-fulfillment of the responsibilities.
  • In case of applying for the withdrawal of admission before the semester commencement date, the full amount of the payment excluding the application fee may be refunded. After a school semester starts, the prorated amount of tuition will be refunded after subtracting the amount according to the number of school days.
  • If the address or contact information is incorrect on the application form, or if applicants do not receive notification due to residing in a foreign country, Students who cannot be reached by two phone calls or one SMS notification will not be admitted/deemed unregistered and will not be able to raise an objection - for any reason in the future.
  • New students are not allowed to take a leave of absence in the first semester, except leave of absence for military and illness (more than 4 weeks).
  • Scholarships for admitted students are in accordance with the Admissions Management Committee and the scholarship regulations of the university.
  • Matters not specified in the application guidelines are determined by the Admissions Management Committee.
  • If enrolled through the industry-commissioned screening, employment status will be checked every September for such students including freshmen and transfer students in the first semester of the year. If they leave the industry at their will, they will be deemed expelled However, exceptions are applied after deliberation by the entrusted education review committee within the university in case of the following cases.
    ① In case of retirement, resignation, or job change in the industry with only one semester left in the industry-commissioned education
    ② In case of retirement, switch to another industry, or job change regardless of the person's intention, such as dismissal from office due to bankruptcy or restructuring of the company
    ③ If there is an unavoidable reason for not being able to work at the institution anymore, such as childbirth
  • The university implements admissions screening regardless of the matters related to prior learning regulated by the “Special Act on Promotion of Public Education Normalization and the Regulation on Prior Education” (Public Education Normalization Act).
